New XCOM 2 DLC Gameplay Video Introduces Players To The Lost

The new expansion for XCOM 2 , War of the Chosen, is launching for PlayStation 4 , Xbox One , and PC next month. Ahead of its release, developer Firaxis has released a video walkthrough that gives fans a glimpse at one of the missions they'll undertake in the DLC, as well as some of the new factions and enemies they'll encounter. In War of the Chosen, players will have to unite opposing factions in order to reclaim the Earth. The new video introduces fans to two of these: the Reapers, who are described as "masters of concealment," and a group of former ADVENT soldiers called the Skirmishers. The two factions are distrustful of one another, but players must bring representatives from each group to a meeting to convince them to work together. The ensuing mission has players choose two teams to escort the representatives to a rendezvous point. However, to reach the rendezvous, the teams must make their way through ruins infested with zombie-like foes called the Lost. ...

Spider-Man: Homecoming: Every Marvel Character In The Movie

Image
Finally, Spider-Man has a solo film existing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His newest film, Spider-Man: Homecoming --now in theaters--featured quite a few characters from the comic book series, some familiar and some not. Here are 21 comic characters we saw in the film, and where they appeared. Warning: Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming coming up. Spider-Man If Spider-Man wasn't in a movie called Spider-Man: Homecoming , that would be incredibly weird. The movie follows the exploits of a young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) after his appearance in Captain America: Civil War . Aunt May Aunt May Parker (Marisa Tomei) is in the film quite a lot, as you'd expect. This version of Aunt May was a bit more fun than portrayals of her in the past, which were stiff and cantankerous. Vulture The Vulture (Michael Keaton) was one of the best things about Homecoming. He is an incredibly sympathetic character and well-rounded, making him one of the more dynamic villains i...

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds players team up to try and break the game

Image
The objective of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is to kill everyone else, so you are the last man (or woman) standing. However, when streamer DooM49 gathered an enormous team of 50 players together for an "epic 50 man madness" stream they showed that friendship can exist in the wasteland of battle royales. Rather than killing each other, the 50 players chose to test to limits of the game and have a bit of fun. Activities at the DooM49 summer camp included: synchronised swimming, driving 50 cars into the water at once and firing countless rounds into a frying pan - turns out the frying pan can block fire from 50 players shooting at the same time. Pantastic! PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has also added its weekly patch update to test servers, which should be available on the live server tomorrow. Overwatch Makes A Huge Announcement About Competitive Gaming

Blizzard's big plan for Overwatch esports allows teams to buy cities

Image
Blizzard has announced major investment in its Overwatch League, the official home of Overwatch esports, first announced at last year's Blizzcon. Seven team slots have been acquired by organisations from both the traditional sports and esports worlds, as well as a couple of tech-focused entrepreneurs, with ESPN reporting a potential fee of $20 million per team. "We're not commenting on the price of the spot," said Nate Nanzer, Commissioner of the Overwatch League when I spoke to him this week. "But we can talk a little bit about the terms of the relationship. Read more… Gaming http://ift.tt/2udQIY9 July 12, 2017 at 04:00PM

PS5 To Launch In 2019, Will Be "Another Half Step," Analyst Predicts

Sony may have only released the PlayStation 4 Pro at the end of last year, but more hardware could come as soon as 2019, according to one analyst. Wedbush Securities' Michael Pachter has told GamingBolt that he expects the PlayStation 5 to launch in 2019, and that it will be a "half step," similar to how, in Pachter's view, the PS4 Pro was a "half step" over the base PS4 . "The PS4 Pro is better [from a technical perspective] than the PS4, so I think that's a half step towards the PS5," he said. "I think the PS5 will be another half step." He added: "My expectation that is that it's not coming out in 2018. That [it will be] 2019 or 2020 but probably 2019. Sony is probably timing it better because they are going to bring out a 4K-capable device when the 4K TV market reaches 50% in the USA and 35% in the rest of the world. "I think Sony has probably got the next console cycle nailed down already. I think they already ...
